My 18 Mth Old...

Esther just turn 18 month old last week. I realized there is a lot of a change in her when compared to a 12 month old. These days i find it easier to understand her as she can express her feelings and needs more thru simple words. I also realize that her vocabulary improves day by day as she will say out some of the things she saw even when her pronounced it blurly, but we are still are able to catch what she means.

Shopping is a bit headache now coz apart from selecting the items from the supermarket shelves, we had to keep an extra eye on as she will run crazily down the aisles touching the items arranged neatly on the shelves. She would not let us hold her hand or either hug her. Eating out is difficult for us too. She no longer interested to be seated in a baby seat. She wanted to have her own bowl or plate and spoon. She will try to feed herself and often end up very messy and dirty. She will not drink from her water bottle and instead she wanted to taste our drinks.

Last night, after dinner, we popped down to Satok Plaza to shop around. Finally when we were at the drinks section, she suddenly say "shui shui" pointing at the packet drinks in front of her nodding her head. My hubby and I were in doubt whether to buy or not as we had just purchased the same drinks earlier on in the morning. I told her that we had the same drinks at home and to my astonishment she began to throw her temper by crying and screaming loudly in the supermarket.

For the first time, i felt so embarrassed. Normally we do see kids throwing tantrum in super mart just because they wanted their parents to buy something for them. OMG!! this is situation is happening to us too. We tried to persuade her to buy some other drinks such as Vitagen but she still insists she wanted to have that same drink she wanted earlier on. We finally gave in to her, pay and out of the plaza. She finished her drink even before our car reaches the 1st traffic light on our way home.
